Calling All Teens: Join the NO BULL Challenge and Win Great Prizes Fighting Cyberbullying!

Date: January 1, 2012

Each day, teenagers spend countless hours communicating on social networking sites, texting each other on their smart phones, and using mobile technology to document their lives in real time. In a groundbreaking initiative designed to apply young people’s comfort and familiarity with new technologies to combat rather than engage in dangerous online bullying, ADL has joined the Great American NO BULL Challenge and calls upon teens to create and submit videos about the perils of cyberbullying as part of a national competition.

Participants in the NO BULL Challenge have the opportunity to write and direct videos addressing the issue of cyberbullying and to compete in a national competition where the winners will be recognized as celebrities at the star-studded NO BULL Red Carpet Awards Event in San Francisco in July 2012.

Students in 6th through 12th grade have two months to start an anti-cyberbullying campaign in their school or community, use video to document their campaign, and then submit their project to the Challenge website. Once the video is uploaded, each student will rally for votes by word of mouth, text, on YouTube and Facebook in order to help get their work selected as one of the fifteen finalists.

Videos can be submitted between January 15 and March 15, 2012.

As a Campaign Partner of the Great American NO BULL Challenge, ADL is excited to participate in the largest youth-led national campaign against cyberbullying. The Great American NO BULL Challenge empowers teens to use social networking to inspire and help one another and to build each other up, rather than tearing each other down, providing a national platform for teens to be heard on the subject of cyberbullying.

The NO BULL Challenge aims to engage America's students, educators, organization leaders, counselors, organization leaders, mentors and communities in our nation's efforts to create awareness and reduce the risks associated with cyberbullying.

More information, including guidelines for participating and ways educators and community members can help promote the Challenge can be found at The Great American NO BULL Challenge or on the Challenge’s Facebook page.
