Glass Leadership Institute

The Institute, which begins in September and runs through June, combines educational programming about the substantive issues of ADL’s agenda with active participation in ADL’s working committees to give participants the opportunity to become ADL leaders in the community.

Institute participants are drawn from the community by nominations submitted by ADL Board members, rabbis, community leaders, past program participants and ADL staff. Nominees are then asked to submit a formal application and identify their current community involvement and interests as well as their reasons for wanting to get involved in ADL. Through this competitive process, ADL recruits and invests in a diverse group of young people who are committed to civil rights, human relations, and anti-bias education, and who recognize that religious freedom for the Jewish people demands vigilance and both proactive and defensive attention.

Attendance is expected at monthly evening sessions. Participants also attend ADL’s National Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. in the spring.
