More than 400 of Greater Hartford's citizens and community leaders gathered to honor the Chase and Carter Families at the 2009 Greater Hartford Torch of Liberty Award Reception. The event, with a theme of "Passing the Torch," celebrates families with a multigenerational dedication to service, good deeds and philanthropy. The Chase and Carter Families were recognized for their exemplary commitment to the Greater Hartford community. They have truly "Passed the Torch" from generation to generation to bring communities together and help those in need.
The evening also featured a program highlighting ADL's innovative work addressing cyberbullying.
Eric Zachs, Founder and Managing Partner of Bantry Bay Ventures-Asia, ADL's Hartford County Chair and a prior recipient of the Greater Hartford Torch of Liberty Award noted "The Chase and Carter families underscore the mission of the Anti-Defamation League and embody the ideals of the Torch of Liberty Award with their unwavering dedication to community service and helping those in need. The event is a must attend gala that brings together hundreds of leading citizens in the Greater Hartford communities to recognize ADL's vital efforts to combat bigotry and discrimination against all.
