Anti-Israel Demonstrators Protest in Connecticut

While Jewish communities throughout Connecticut gathered to show solidarity with Israel, anti-Israel activists in the state and around the country demonstrated to protest Israel's operation in Gaza.  ADL has reported nationally that, during such rallies, demonstrators have offered extreme anti-Israel messages, including anti-Semitic rhetoric and Holocaust imagery comparing Jews and Israelis to Nazis, and have in some cases even voiced support of terrorism.

In Connecticut, ADL is monitoring anti-Israel rallies for such manifestations of hate and anti-Semitism, including those that have taken place in New Haven, Hartford and elsewhere around the state.  At a demonstration in West Hartford, for instance, protestors brandished signs equating the Jewish star with a swastika and stating "Boycott Apartheid Israel."
