Philadelphia Police Recruits Visit Holocaust Museum
Date: October 17, 2008
On October 16, 2008, Philadelphia Police Academy Class #353 visited the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC. The Holocaust Memorial Museum and the Anti-Defamation League have developed a training session for Philadelphia police recruits, in-service, and command level law enforcement officers. The program, entitled "Law Enforcement and Society: Lessons of the Holocaust," examines the history of the Holocaust and encourages law enforcement officials to reflect upon their personal and professional responsibilities in our society while protecting the rights of all citizens.
This training program has achieved national recognition from the International Association of Chiefs of Police and the United States Department of Justice. This is the second time the Philadelphia Police recruits participated in this training.
