Educational Programs ADL’s Education Division focuses on three primary programmatic areas; anti-bias education, confronting anti-Semitism, and Holocaust education.
A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE® INSTITUTE As a leading provider of anti-bias education and diversity programs, the Anti-Defamation League’s A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE® INSTITUTE recognizes that attitudes and beliefs affect actions, and that each of us can have an impact on others, and ultimately the world we live in.
The Institute’s customizable, interactive programs provide the necessary skills, knowledge and awareness to promote and sustain inclusive and respectful school, work and home environments and are available to schools, universities, corporations, law enforcement agencies, and community organizations.
Other ADL education programs that help people develop skills to confront prejudice and discrimination and build respect in their communities include:
Confronting Anti-Semitism trains Jewish students, educators, community leaders, havurots and other groups to identify and develop skills to respond to anti-Semitic incidents.
Echoes and Reflections “Echoes and Reflections” Multi-Media Holocaust Curriculum Through a unique partnership, ADL, the USC Shoah Foundation Institute and Yad Vashem produced this comprehensive multimedia, high school curriculum that uses illustrated maps, photographs, timelines, and primary source material to help students study the Holocaust, connect history with contemporary issues, and develop skills to confront issues of prejudice and bigotry in their lives.
The winner of the 2007 National Association for Multicultural Education Media Award, Echoes and Reflections is a curriculum for classes in History, English/Language Arts, Holocaust Education, Fine Arts and Character Education, including more than 2 ? -hours of compelling visual history testimony from survivors, rescuers, and liberators in every lesson and in varying lengths to fit teachers’ lesson plans.
ADL frequently hosts Echoes and Reflections training workshops for teachers that allow them the opportunity to sample a lesson, share resources and ideas with their fellow teachers, and receive a free copy of the curriculum.
The next workshop will be on Monday, November 12 from 4 to 7:30 pm and the cost is $15 per person. Download a registration form and fax it to 303-830-1554
