ADL's Regional Director, Bruce H. DeBoskey, Named to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Colorado Holiday Commission

Bruce H. DeBoskey, Regional Director of the Mountain States Office of the Anti-Defamation League, has been named to the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Colorado Holiday Commission.

"ADL is an important part of the civil rights community and we need its representation on the Commission and the integrity Bruce DeBoskey brings," Sharon Alexander-Holt, Chairperson of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission said. "Serving on the Commission is an honor because we represent Dr. King's values, keep those values alive, and instill them in our community as we carrying on his legacy. This is not just about a holiday, but about practicing what Dr. King taught us."

"ADL is proud to be a more formal part of the Commission’s important and ongoing work for civil rights in our state," DeBoskey said.

The Commission’s mission is to celebrate and honor the legacy of Dr. King, Jr. by unifying the people of Colorado around his principals and to reflect on the sacrifices and on-going struggle for civil and human rights.

The Commission fulfills this mission by: "Passing the Torch," which symbolizes the oneness of people and connects all Coloradoans with the vision of Dr. King, Jr.; providing a centralized online calendar of events of all Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. events across the state; attending holiday observances within the State of Colorado; and encouraging and promoting year-round educational activities regarding the works of Dr. King, Jr.

In addition to Alexander-Holt and DeBoskey, the members of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Colorado Holiday Commission are: Vice Chair Terry Nelson; Pastor Ralph Beechum; Roz Duman; Vern Howard; Sandra Mann; Desiree Marchman; Haven Moses; Barbara Shannon-Banister; Darius Smith; Stephen Straight; and Menola Upshaw.
