Help your school become No Place for Hate®

Date: July 2, 2008

Summer is a time to relax, enjoy the weather and rejuvenate. And summer is also an important time for teachers, staff and administrators to plan for the upcoming school year.

So, for all those thinking ahead to the exciting 2008-2009 school year, consider ADL's newest education campaign - No Place for Hate®. The Mountain States Region is excited to offer this new option for schools which combines our best anti-bias programming with our Positive Impact! resource guide. No Place for Hate® is designed to organize and empower school communities to work together to develop projects that enhance the appreciation of diversity and foster harmony amongst diverse groups.

On May 5, 2008, Manhattan Middle School became the first school in Colorado to earn a No Place for Hate® designation and we are proud that they have committed to continue their work into the 2008-2009 school year. Other schools that have signed up to work towards their 2008-2009 No Place for Hate ® designation include:

  • Cherry Creek High School (Denver)
  • East High School (Denver)
  • Manhattan Middle School (Boulder)
  • Nevin Platt Middle School (Boulder)
  • Pine Creek High School (Colorado Springs)
  • Rangeview High School (Aurora)
  • Sand Creek High School (Colorado Springs)
  • Whiting High School (Laramie, WY)

This campaign challenges the entire school community to work to complete five steps to earn a banner designating them No Place for Hate®. With the generosity of our donors, this campaign is free to those schools that commit to this year-long process. Space is limited, only 25 schools will be able to participate during the 2008-2009 school year. Additional No Place for Hate® program details and information on how to get your school involved.
