Bronx School Becomes a Model No Place For Hate® School
Date: June 21, 2013
This year, ADL New York named 65 New York schools No Place For Hate®, doubling the number from the previous year. As part of the honor, some schools were designated 'Gold Star Schools' for going above and beyond the requirements to making their schools safe for all students. On June 4, 2013, ADL held a recognition ceremony for 350 students and educators from those schools at The New School’s Tishman Auditorium. Hosted by Miss New York 2011 Kaitlin Monte, the event not only recognized the work that was done throughout the 2012-2013 school year, but inspired everyone in the audience to continue their work against hate into the summer.
One of this year’s Gold Star schools, P.S. 72 in the Bronx, was featured in a NY12 News broadcast. Check it out here. "No Place For Hate" Program Honors Bronx Schools.
