ADL Presents Confronting Anti-Semitism to Ithaca College and Cornell University Students

Date: September 17, 2009

On September 14 and 15, two ADL staff members visited the campuses of Ithaca College and Cornell University to conduct a Confronting Anti-Semitism workshop and meet with university administrators about the climate on campus for Jewish students.

Cornell and Ithaca College students discussed case studies dealing with issues of bias in the classroom, extremist speakers, and campus demonstrations, drawing parallels with the situation on their own campuses and brainstorming productive responses to each situation. ADL met privately with Cornell University’s Dean of Students and well as the President of Ithaca College, delivering its manual for university administrators, Responding to Bigotry and Intergroup Strife on Campus.
