The No Place For Hate® initiative offers students, teachers, administrators and family member the opportunity to work together to combat prejudice and enhance a culture of respect in the school community.
By participating in No Place For Hate®, your school community has the opportunity to create a safer learning environment, promote unity and respect, and reduce bullying, name-calling and other expressions of bias. The No Place For Hate initiative is available to all schools (K-12) at no cost.
How to Become a 2012-2013 No Place for Hate School
• Read more information on No Place For Hate in our Brochure (pdf) • Complete the Intent Form (pdf) by January 4, 2013 • Review the Checklist (pdf) • Create a No Place For Hate Committee and complete the Committee Form (pdf) • Sign the Resolution of Respect (pdf) or No Place for Hate Promise (pdf) • Complete three or more anti-bias/diversity activities within one school year • Submit an Activity Form (pdf) for each activity
If you fulfill all of the requirements, your school will receive a banner and be designated as a No Place For Hate® school!
Resource Guide
When selecting activities, students and faculty can utilize the No Place for Hate Resource Guide (pdf) which has various activity ideas and also includes a calendar and glossary of religious and cultural observances, information on cyberbullying and ways to respond to bias incidents and hurtful language.
No Place For Hate® Gold Star Schools
Each year, several schools throughout the New York Region will be recognized for their exceptional commitment to No Place For Hate®. These schools will receive special recognition with a Gold Star Banner.
