Community Leaders Honored by ADL
Date: October 5, 2009
More than 250 people joined together to honor Dr. Aliza Lifshitz and Hon. Jan Perry, who received the Deborah Awards, and Stacy D. Phillips and Thomas E. Holliday, who received the Jurisprudence Award, on September 30 at The Montage Beverly Hills. Michaela Pereira of the "KTLA Morning News Show" served as MC.
ADL's Deborah Awards are presented annually to outstanding women whose leadership in their professions and civic contributions exemplify the qualities and ideals of the Anti-Defamation League. Similarly, the Jurisprudence Award is given annually to members of the legal community, whose work and accomplishments reflect and promote the mission of ADL.
As this was the 15th Annual Deborah Award event, the program included special recognition of past honorees and a video message from one of the first award recipients, United States Senator Dianne Feinstein.
The event, co-chaired by Carl Kravetz, Hon. Mel Levine, Ruth Moss and Peg Yorkin, raised over $180,000 for ADL programs to fight anti-Semitism and bigotry.
