Pacific Southwest Region Delegation Returns Energized from ADL National Leadership Conference; Seth Gerber Receives Prestigious Ginsberg Award
Date: May 2, 2008
Twenty-two members of this year's Glass Leadership Institute attended the 2008 Shana Amy Glass National Leadership Conference April 13-15 in Washington, D.C. accompanied by Associate Director Judy Feldman and Washington States Counsel Michelle Deutchman.
This year's three-day conference brought together nearly 500 ADL leaders from across the country for a series of briefings from legislators, civil rights leaders, ambassadors and foreign policy experts including Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer. Participants attended workshops on topics including the future of the Middle East peace process, religious liberty in America, and how to fight terrorism while protecting civil liberties. Also in attendance representing the Pacific Southwest Region were Stephanie and Howard Sherwood, Leah Mendelsohn, Martin Coyne and Seth Gerber.
During a special reception, Seth Gerber was one of five young leaders around the country to receive the prestigious Daniel R. Ginsberg Leadership Award for his extensive involvement with ADL as Legal Advisory Committee Chair, Speakers Bureau Chair, L.A. Dinner Celebration Committee Co-Chair, Regional Board member and Executive Committee member. The Daniel R. Ginsberg Award honors emerging ADL leaders who have demonstrated a deep knowledge and working commitment to the policies and activities of the ADL, have taken on leadership positions and committee posts within ADL, and have made significant financial contributions. Nominations for next year’s Glass Leadership Institute will begin in the summer.
