Exhibit: "Resistance and Rescue: The Danish Response to the Holocaust"
Date: January 5, 2009 - February 26, 2009
Venue: Omaha Jewish Community Center Pennie Z. Davis Gallery for Holocaust Education
Location: Omaha, Nebraska

Without words, the photos of Judy Ellis Glickman tell the remarkable story of the flight of the Jews out of Denmark to safety in Sweden in the fall of 1943. Using subtle manipulations of the photographic process, Glickman captures the many emotions of the Rescue; the stately beauty of the Krystalgade Synagogue in Copenhagen; the unaffected pride and vitality of the resistance leaders and fishermen; the sadness of the episode at the Gilleleje Church; the potential freedom of the Sea. Glickman's photographs are testaments to the commitment of the Danish people to save their fellow citizens in the face of such danger (description from Holocaust and Human Rights Center of Maine).
