Civil Rights Committee

Responsible for developing, prioritizing and carrying out ADL's civil rights agenda in the schools, courts, legislatures, workplaces and the community.  The committee assists the Regional Director in monitoring current affairs and legislation, local politics, media and other civil rights activities in Nebraska, Iowa and parts of Kansas with the goal of ensuring our concerns are heard by those in power.  The civil rights agenda includes promoting equality and justice for all, safeguarding the First Amendment rights of all Americans in the area of religious freedom, and providing assistance to victims of bias-motivated conduct and religious, racial and other forms of discrimination through litigation, legislation, coalition-building, and educational efforts.
