ADL Director Greets New Archbishop

Date: July 29, 2009

ADL Regional Director Alan Potash – together with Rabbi Gross of Beth Israel Synagogue, Rabbi Mordechai Levin of Beth El Synagogue, Institute for Holocaust Education Director Beth Seldin-Dotan and Project Interfaith Director Beth Katz – represented the Omaha Jewish community in welcoming the newly named Archbishop George J. Lucas when he was formally installed at St. Cecilia Cathedral this month.

Potash had been invited to join a select committee of Omahans to greet the new Archbishop during the ceremony.

In his homily, Archbishop Lucas addressed honoring the connection to the non-Catholic community. His words, along with the diversity of the audience and the delegation of Jewish community leaders spoke to continuing respectful interfaith relations throughout Greater Omaha.
