ADL Plains States Join National Immigration Reform Campaign
Date: July 6, 2009
This June, the ADL Plains States Office joined a coalition of allies from labor, business and community groups in 40 cities across the country to launch the Reform Immigration FOR America Campaign.
The national grassroots initiative is calling upon Americans and lawmakers to support a new federal immigration policy that will serve the country's security, humanitarian and economic interests.
With its unique expertise in civil rights and law enforcement, the ADL has taken a leading role in standing up for comprehensive reform and standing against xenophobic rhetoric by hate groups and local divisive ordinances in communities such as Fremont, Nebraska.
"We are pleased to join the Reform Immigration FOR America Campaign," ADL Regional Director Alan Potash said. "This effort sets forth a vision for a stronger, more unified nation where foreign and native-born people can live and work together under the rule of law."
