ADL participates in 24th Annual All People's Breakfast
Date: January 16, 2012
ADL participated in the 24th Annual All People’s Breakfast on January 16th. The event, which had more than 1,200 people in attendance, honors the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
This year’s theme was “All People Speak – Inspirational voices for acceptance, inclusion, opportunity and change.” Delivering the keynote address was José Antonio Vargas, the Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and founder of Define America. Mr. Vargas drew parallels between the civil rights movement and the struggle of undocumented immigrants like himself and invited the public to have a real conversation about how to solve the problem of illegal immigration.
ADL had a table at the Community Space, where diverse local nonprofit organizations were able to speak with and distribute materials to the attendees.
