On Thursday, October 1st, United for a Hate Free San Diego held their second annual Hate Crimes Summit titled "Even One Is Too Many" in the Ronald Reagan Community Center in El Cajon.

United for a Hate Free San Diego is a coalition of 52 faith leaders, community leaders and organizations that have been meeting regularly since November 2007.

The program included a keynote presentation by James McElroy from the Southern Poverty Law Center and a panel discussion with the participation of ADL Regional Director Morris Casuto. Elected officials and law enforcement professionals were in attendance, as well as Oscar Garcia from the San Diego District Attorney's Hate Crimes Unit. Different scenarios were discussed, followed by a lively question-and-answer session.
