Clear View School, No Place for Hate, ADL San Diego

Clear View School is committed to becoming No Place for Hate®

Date: January 11, 2012

Clear View School, part of the Chula Vista Elementary School District, is participating in ADL’s No Place for Hate® initiative for the third straight year.

This year, students signed Resolution of Respect banners, which were then hung in the school auditorium.

Resolution of Respect

I promise to do my best to treat everyone fairly.

• I promise to do my best to be kind to everyone—even if they are not like me.

• If I see someone being hurt or bullied, I will report it to an adult.

• Everyone should be able to feel safe and happy at school.

• I want our school to be No Place for Hate®.

Students also brainstormed ideas about how to disagree while still showing respect. They acted out various scenarios in their classrooms about how to do this.

Finally, students collaborated and created word balloons for the auditorium on how to disagree respectfully.  These ideas were shared at the Welcome Back assembly on January 10th.

ADL commends everyone at Clear View School for their commitment to promoting tolerance and respect in their school and to creating an inclusive learning environment for all their students.
