Civil Rights Committee
Responsible for developing, prioritizing and carrying out ADL's civil rights agenda in the schools, courts, legislatures, workplaces and the community. The civil rights agenda includes promoting equality and justice for all, exposing extremist groups and individuals, and safeguarding religious liberties for all by protecting the constitutionally mandated separation of church and state. Government Affairs, Fact-Finding and Media Relations are part of the Civil Rights Committee. The Civil Rights Committee is responsible for helping ADL staff plan and implement meetings and programs with national, state and local government officials, law enforcement, media, educators, employers, parents and other civil rights organizations. Committee members will be responsible for helping ADL staff respond to incidents of anti-Semitism, racism, discrimination and church-state problems. Civil Rights Committee conference calls are held monthly, generally the last Friday of every month, and the committee meets quarterly. Sub committees include: ALL (Alliance for Learning to Live Altogether), Church and State, Discrimination, Government Affairs, SchooLink, and Program.
