2013 Karen H. Susman Jurisprudence Award Recipient Lynne Liberato

Lynne Liberato to Receive ADL’s 2013 Karen H. Susman Jurisprudence Award

Date: March 19, 2013

She has been president of the Houston Bar Association, president of the State Bar of Texas,  president of the Texas Supreme Court Historical Society, and clearly is a leader in legal circles not only in Houston, but in the country. Therefore, it may not surprise those who know her that Haynes and Boone LLP partner Lynne Liberato will receive the 2013 Karen H. Susman Jurisprudence Award at a luncheon on March 19, 2013.

The award is presented annually to an outstanding member of the legal community who exhibits an exceptional commitment to equality, justice, fairness and community service.  But "outstanding" doesn't even begin to describe Liberato's accomplishments and dedication to the community.

She has chaired the board of the United Way of Greater Houston and calls her selection as United Way "Volunteer of the Year" one of her proudest achievements.  She has served on the board of the directors of the Greater Houston Partnership, on the Executive Committee of the board of the South Texas College of Law, and has volunteered for the Houston Bar Veterans Administration Clinic and Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program.

Liberato has received numerous awards and accolades, including the Leon Jaworski Public Service Award, being selected as a Top 100 Texas Super Lawyer, Top 50 Female Lawyer, Top 100 Houston Super Lawyer, Appellate Super Lawyer by Texas Monthly Magazine , and Top Notch Appellate Lawyer by Texas Lawyer Magazine. She has paved the way for many female lawyers in Houston, Texas, and the nation.

Event Chairs are Phyllis Cohen (Linn Thurber LLP), George Gibson (Nathan Sommers Jacobs) and Mark Trachtenberg(Haynes and Boone, LLP).  Sponsor tickets start at $350 and Tables of 10 start at $3500.  For more information, or to buy a table or tickets, call ADL’s Southwest Regional Office at 713-627-3490.
