No Place for Hate®

The No Place for Hate® initiative provides educators and students with the resources to ensure that anti-bias and diversity education are an integral part of the school curriculum.  No Place for Hate® also helps to create and sustain inclusive school environments where all students feel valued and have the opportunity to succeed by promoting respect for individual difference while challenging bigotry and prejudice.  Launched in schools in 2001, the popular initiative has been embraced by hundreds of campuses throughout the Southwest region, including many in the Houston, Austin, San Antonio and Round Rock areas.

How to Become a No Place for Hate® School
To become a No Place for Hate® school, participants complete the Intent Form, Coalition Form, sign the Primary or Secondary Resolution of Respect Form, complete at least three anti-bias activities and document those activities on an Activity Form.

Resource Guide
When selecting activities, students and faculty can utilize the No Place for Hate® Resource Guide, which has over 100 activity ideas and also includes a calendar and glossary of religious and cultural observances, hate crime information, ways to respond to hate incidents and hate crimes in schools and tips for responding to hurtful language.

No Place for Hate® Resources
While ADL's Resource Guide provides activity ideas designed to help you create a respectful campus, ADL has many resources designed to help you achieve your No Place for Hate® designation, including information about highlight schools in Austin and the greater Southwest Region.
